A lovely High Street with lots of different shops.
A lovely High Street with lots of different shops. A good scattering of restaurants, especially the Truva, a Turkish restaurant. genuinely authentic Turkish food (I have lived in Turkey). Alleyways and side streets to explore. And of course Siverstone race circuit is nearby and the lovely Northamptonshire countryside

Seemed a very nice town . Bletchley Par and Silverstone were the plan. However we gave Silverstone a miss and went to the Canal Museum instead. Would recommend B.P. it was wonderful. Canal Museum picturesque and tranquil.

Stayed in Towcester - an area I knew well as we had lived close by 20 years ago. We were reuniting with old friends for a night out so The Saracen’s was well located.
It is an old coaching inn which has been refurbished over the years and was very welcoming. Our room was small but ok but we had problems with the bathroom ( shower leaked and flooded the floor), comfortable enough for a one night stay.

The place is in Stoke Bruerne, about 3 miles from Towcester.
The place is in Stoke Bruerne, about 3 miles from Towcester. It is right on the banks of the canal and the museum. Boat rides can be taken from just outside the back gate. Lovely walks along the tow paths. Two local pubs within a couple of minutes walk, which are fine and a good Indian restaurant although we ate in Towcester itself, which was a five minute drive. Very good.

It was 8 miles away from Silverstone so very handy.
It was 8 miles away from Silverstone so very handy. We dropped our friends at the circuit and met them in Silverstone village after and went back to hotel down country roads away from the crowds. Seemed to be what a lot of people did to get away from circuit.
This hotel was ideal for my stopover, with a few hours to spare in the afternoon and evening. A good value stay in a historic building and small town. The area has several other characterful pubs (such as the brewery in the old mill on the river), and meadow walks. There was free parking in the rear car park, though it looked as though it was going to fill up.
The room was clean and characterful, and the bed comfortable (though I personally found the duvet a bit too warm for mid-May).
Our stay was excellent from start to finish. The staff were really helpful and accommodated the birthday upgrade. A cake, balloons and greetings card were all inside the room upon arrival.
The room was really comfy and spacious, the bathroom / shower area is designed well and the tv is huge!
The hotel staff managed to allocate us a room that looked directly over the start line.
For anybody stopping here, I would 100% recommend a balcony room. The view is incredible.
We only stayed here for one night, as we had to drop our rental car back to Bletchley the next morning. The Old Talbot was a welcome surprise.
The rooms at the back of the hotel are at ground level, so no carry luggage upstairs, and the rooms look new and are superb.
The food at the pub is first c;lass, and lucky for us they had a trivia night. The staff were great, and the atmosphere very good. Really glad we picked this one!!
The location was excellent, next to the circuit. We were there for the classic M.G / Triumph weekend. The room was fine, the front of house staff were fine, particually the bar manager who seemed to be doing everything in his power to please all the guests. There was also a second gentleman who also simply worked his socks off, at front of house / reception to the bar area, both of these men were exceptional.
That it felt like I was coming home to a great space that was relaxing after a days work. When you’re working away from home to come stay somewhere that feels like a home makes such a difference.
I normally stay at the hotel that’s at the Silverstone circuit but this was the best find and just 10 minutes away. I will definitely stay again.
As I arrived I was greeted by the host and shown around the spacious luxury accommodation. I was told I was the only one staying. I settled in for the evening and was highly impressed with what was left for breakfast, the living room was beyond comfortable. The bedrooms were large and clean.
We didn't have too much time to explore the location, however, the hotel was a beautiful building with an older feel and quirky which we love.
There were a few issues at breakfast but these wete quickly remedied by the friendly helpful staff.
The hotel is a cosy little village with idyllic surroundings. I travelled for business, so less interested in village, just looking for a friendly hotel, good rooms and a decent place for dinner and a pint. The pub looked nice when I arrived.
Location is AMAZING right on the track you can relax on the terrace area of the bar great food great service friendly staff. Rooms cleaned to a superb standard. Get a track facing room with balcony - you won’t regret it!
The location was chosen as we were visiting the Silverstone Circuit the next day.
Food was good which we ate in our room.
The room and bathroom were comfortable however no hand soap was provided!!
Super quiet location, but very quick into Towcester if you needed and very close to Whittlebury Hall which is where I was working. Very comfortable and large room with good bathroom and kitchen.
Excepcional staff, very clean and comfortable room, very spacious. The village location is perfect for a good rest and the food from the pub is lovely. Would return for sure!
Staff were amazing, food in restaurant excellent. Newly built, room looked nice and bed comfortable. 10 miles away from Silverstone and close to Towcester racecourse.
