We didn't spend much time in Mold itself but it was a convenient centre from which to explore Chester and N. Wales. It took a while to work out the best routes and some road directions were initially confusing but we managed OK. The Park and Ride facility for Chester was convenient and easy. Much better that driving round looking for parking.

Our stay was some 8 miles away from Mold in Afonwen. Mold is a small town with a great little market on Saturdays. Afonwen is a beautiful area with mountains, a nature reserve and a lake. A bird watchers paradise and great for walking and access to North Wales beaches.

Mold had charity shops and a few Quiet Pubs like a Wetherspoons But was turned away from the Red Lion Pub because was not a local & was not happy about that.
The nearest hotel was not walking distance into Mold town as the Booking site had led me to believe But there was a Bus service into Mold and to Chester.

Always enjoy visiting here and our stay at Hafen Deg was amazing. When we came last time we had a good meal at the fat boar In mold, but since we were mainly eating party food for an 80th birthday we didnt get chance to go there but enjoyed the wetherspoons in mold just as much.
I liked the older style of the building and that all of the rooms were not the same and that it wasn’t part of a chain- however when I arrived it became clear it was more of a hostel than a hotel and I can see why it may be being changed to a refugee asylum. Lots of groups of men hanging around outside over holidays, no visible staff present (they hide in the staff area) and due it’s remote location and the fact there’s no one there overnight felt unsafe at times.
Very quirky accommodation. Lovely added touch of small fridge with fresh milk and water. Also a microwave and plates bowls, cutlery, but we had booked for evening meal in the restaurant so didn't need them. Excellent service from the welcoming staff, plenty of choices on the menu. Good quality ingredients. Very enjoyable.
Breakfast next day was of a similar high standard.
Peaceful location, but only a short drive from the A55. I was attending a concert at the Tivoli in Buckley in the evening, and again it was only a few minutes drive away.
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Food and drinks in the bar were good. Breakfast was good and plenty of it. Room was nice, clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Everything just as presented on Booking.com, which is not always the case. So much more convenient than non descript hotel chain rooms. Although we didn't use all the facilities they were all there and in pristine condition. Wish we could have stayed longer and explored around.
Plas Hafod was an excellent hotel. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The room that we were given the “French Room” was gorgeous. The food in the restaurant was of a very good standard and the breakfast was excellent. All in all a great location and weekend stay !!!
Quiet hotel with beautiful grounds. Check-in is quick, in a few minutes. The room is spacious, the bed is huge, the sheets and towels are snow-white. Breakfast is standard: eggs, bacon, beans in tomato, toast, tea/coffee, fruit, yoghurt. There is free parking.
We had a lovely stay at Hafan Deg. We were warmly recieved upon arrival and our room was very cute and comfortable with access to the garden! The morning breakfast was nice as well. I'd definitely recommend Hafan Deg to anyone traveling through Northern Wales.
A lovely individual style hotel with beautiful gardens.
Bedroom and bathroom were large with traditional furniture. They had everything you'd need and were very comfortable.
Breakfast was good with lots of choice. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Personal service of family run business, very friendly and efficient, does not cater in evenings but local town Mold has everything you could want plus Aldi/Lidl/big Tesco/Wetherspoons etc so really not an issue about finding an evening meal.
Great location within the grounds of the main farmhouse, but set up to provide plenty of privacy. Very clean, comfortable accommodation with the added bonus of a hot tub.
The staff are all friendly and very helpful. The food is well presented and great value for money. The beds are really comfortable. The whole hotel is extremely clean.
A very charming small country hotel to stay at. The staff were exceptionally helpful throughout my stay. Breakfast included was certainly well above average.
The staff were terrific. There seemed to be nothing they wouldn’t do for our comfort. We’re so glad we DID NOT stay at a name brand hotel. This was far better.
As a wedding venue: Fantastic. As a hotel, it is just an expensive, well decorated B & B. Nice house and Grounds.
Staff were really friendly and helpful.
