Although part of Colwyn bay Rhos on sea could not be more different from main Colwyn bay town both old and new. While I found main Colwyn bay quite dated and in need of some tlc,Rhos on sea itself is a delightful place to be with the beach and surrounding properties along with no overcrowding making in my opinion the little gem it is.

We stayed in Rhos on Sea at the Whithall B&B which was cosy with lovely staff and welcoming atmosphere, also a fab breakfast. The Beach which is opposite, was clean and tidy and is currently (Aug 2023) undergoing redevelopment/upgrade of the promenade. There are a handlful of local shops and amenities, as well as a couple of lovely bars and tap rooms. We highly recommend a visit to Grape to the Glass, a lovely cosy wine bar/tap room. The staff were fabulous and had a wealth of knowledge regarding the wine etc that they also sell by the bottle/can. Also a walk along the coast approx 2 miles towards Penrhyn Bay where there is the lovely Beach Cafe

Lovely area so close to so many things to do, all the beaches are really clean with brilliant views. We visited Rhyl, Llandudno, Tonwy, Rhos on sea, Conwy, the Welsh Mountain zoo, the local castles, the local Farm Park and also just stopped along the coast road to access the beach for the kids. Would definitely recommend! And would recommend a trip to Hickorys to eat out which is just along the road!

Colwyn Bay didn’t have much to offer.

Colwyn Bay didn’t have much to offer. We arrived on Saturday evening and couldn’t find any restaurants open where we were! We ended up driving out to Llandudno for food instead. It was a good base for seeing other areas. The only thing in Colwyn Bay worth visiting is the Welsh mountain zoo.

Rhos on Sea is a delightful seaside town in its own right with easy access to other great holiday places. Within easy reach of Llandudno for shops and Theatre Cymru plus West Bay, Deganwy and Conwy. The A55 allows for an easy trip to Anglesey too. In Rhos Fortes often has a wi-fi connection and eating at Pen y Bryn is always a delight. Wet weather shopping at Tweedmill and Afon Wen near St. Asaph.

A fab bedroom with gorgeous distant views to the sea, a beautifully fitted bathroom plus a sitting room and dining area with multiple provisions including a bottle of Prosecco, choice of bread ,plus cereals , cookies etc , etc and this as as well as an excellent cooked breakfast brought to your room .it is situated in a quiet upmarket area of Colwyn Bay .Jane , the host was most helpful throughout including changing dates to avoid me travelling when the big storm this weekend was at its peak

Location superb being just 30 seconds walk from the seafront and 7 minutes walk from the town centre. Free on-street car parking right outside the property ideal. Room very clean and spacious and had everything we wanted - really good shower, TV, free WIFI, tea and coffee and biscuits. Really good choice of food options at breakfast - the cooked breakfast was delicious. Mike and Leslie were excellent hosts and we enjoyed several long chats with them. Will definitely stay at the Colbourn when next in Colwyn Bay.

Everything: The host, the house, the location... Kevin welcomed us at the house and prepared a wonderful welcome package for the kids (and us). The house is in a perfect condition, very cosy and well equipped, including a lovely Garden Room. The seaside and a bus stop are within walking distance. We enjoyed discovering Rhos on Sea, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno and Snowdonia National Park. We can't recommend it enough and hope to be back again soon!

The most lovely owners and my gorgeous big room. Although an older building it was ever so cosy and clean and warm. Fantastic breakfast too! And I really appreciate that there is no extra charge for dogs and they're all welcome. (Some hotels make such a palaver of it, but definitely not here). The owners couldn't be more kind and accommodating! 😁 ❤️

Lovely friendly reception. Room clean with plenty of fresh towels, tea and coffee, tv worked fine. Nice shower and hot water. Fan in room. Not far from shops and a few pubs but in a very quiet area. Breakfast was the best I've ever had. Items sourced from local butcher and you can tell the difference. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Amazing decor, fantastic facilities, one of the best accommodations I have stayed in across 3 continents. Responsive and diligent host, made access to the accommodation simple and straight forward. If you are looking for a base to spend in or explore wales this should be on the top of your list!

Clean and tidy, homely and warm, after a huge train 8hr delayed journey, the Bryn Woodland was welcome relief. Tracey was wonderful and welcoming, my room was exactly what I needed in this quite town situated hotel, just a stones throw from the town centre.
