Unfortunately, we had a problem with our stay for two reasons. 1) the private bathroom/toilet (although only for our use) was not in the room itself, but we had to go through the small breakfast area to get to it. This was not mentioned in the room description. 2) Private parking was not available when we arrived, we were told to park in the street as it was very safe (this is probably true, but we had made the booking because of the facility of private parking). After we had unsuccessfully talked to the owner about parking, we contacted booking.com customer service to negotiate on our behalf and were then offered the owner’s private driveway and another room downstairs which had its own bathroom. Other points to note: breakfast is provided and very nicely presented, but preset with no choice of which yogurt, juice or bread and no muesli/cereal was offered “as guests don't want it and this isn’t a hotel”. Breakfast was ready outside our room when we got up and what was provided was fresh and sufficient. When we were ready to leave, we could not find the owner, even when we knocked on her door, so didn’t know where to leave the cash or the room key and couldn’t get a receipt. In the end we left the cash in the room, locked the door and put the key in a shoe outside the owner’s door. This is a clean, private home, bed & breakfast style accommodation, where great thought has gone into the plentiful decorations placed throughout. Our room, and another guest room, was in the ‘attic’ area, so there are stairs if you have a lot of luggage. If private parking, en-suite and a breakfast choice are not important to you then we would have no problem recommending you stay in this property. (Note: We were told that the room description would be amended.)
