Besides, almost always great weather, very nice people, and delicious food, 1 - to 2 days in Nicosia is enough to walk around and check out the sightseeing. I recommend passing through the border to the Turkish side and shopping a bit in the Turkish Bazar (the ladies will like POSH Handbags & Shoes shop) and eating at the local restaurants. Have a Turkish coffee.

Nicosia is a very unique and historic City.
Nicosia is a very unique and historic City. Famously it is still a divided city and it is possible to visit Northern Nicosia which is under Turkish Occupation since the 1970s.
There are many very interesting and fairly unique sites to visit on both sides of the border.
Nicosia is both a very modern city and has also a very old and picturesque sector. The fact that it has a patrolled border, the Green Line, running through it makes it a very memorable experience.
There are many restaurants and tavernas of variable quality in the town. Sadly there are way too many fast food outlets, but there are also some traditional tavernas serving fresh local delicacies.
However my main criticism would be, as a vegan, I found it very difficult to find places that catered for me.

The southern city center is very small--you can easily walk from end to end multiple times in a day of sightseeing--but it is a pleasant mix of developed tourist streets, colorful quaint residential streets, abandoned buildings and weird more or less closed shops with display windows full of junk. The center is worth a day. A second day is best spent on the Turkish side or in nature at the city outskirts.

We went to see our daughter.
We went to see our daughter. There is a huge amount to do on Cyprus and Nicosia is a great base for doing it from. Lots to do in the city and good access to the coast and mountains. Inside the Venetian walls has quite a nice feel and there are plenty of restaurants and shops as well as museums, churches and other attractions. A trip to the North is also worthwhile.
Thoroughly recommend Sawa Restaurant (a Syrian Restaurant at Klimentos 31, Nicosia 1061). Very nice courtyard venue, great Meze, good wine and alcohol list, attentive service.
Alexandros is a great host. Everything was tidy and clean. The apartment is in a good location, just outside the noisy city, in a quiet suburb of Nicosia. A peaceful place with a relaxing back garden where you can spend a quiet evening and a great morning. The apartment has all the necessary staff to prepare meals and breakfast. It has all the amenities close by, such as a tavern, a bakery, cafes, etc. We will definitely visit again.
The rooms appeared to be tidy, though it was a little messy.
We booked very last minute because booking.com said our first choice was not available (it then booked the first hotel which left us in a strange situation).
The man on the end of the phone was available to guide us in, so at least they were available, he sent a text message with information on how to get into the flat.
-Very friendly and helpful staff.
-Excellent breakfast, not to be missed.
-Modern and spotless rooms and bathrooms.
-Elemis toiletries in the bathroom.
-Electric curtains.
-within a short walk to Ledras street (city centre)
-private parking available next to the hotel, with plenty of space.
We would stay again in this hotel if we go back to Nicosia.
Hotel Delphie
Very well located for those arriving or leaving by bus and it is close to the check point to the Turkish side.
The staff is attentive, especially Maira, very friendly and helpful.
Cleanliness is the hotel's high point. Towels are changed daily.
The hostel is situated in a very quiet and interesting area at the border with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, you can see a football field from the terrace where kids play football in the morning.
Nice people, lovely old Hotel and very good breakfast, car parking for free, in the old town, near Paphos gate and near to Museum and Theatre and to the Ledra street. Basic room, not a three-star-standard.
This was a gem of a hotel in the old town with free parking.. Close to all the main streets , restaurants, churches and museums.. with the bonus of a swimming pool and quiet location
Comfy bed with normal blanket cover instead of a one-sided cover typical for hotels
Awesome terrace (sunlight in the morning and shade the rest of the day)
Quiet location
the hotel is ideally located next to the old town and the car park is very practical for travellers driving around the island. The staff was very helpful and efficient.
A nice, clean hotel in a quiet area. A bit far from the city centre but a walking distance anyway. Not very far from the bus stops to Larnaca, Limassol, etc.
Staff is amazing! So kind, helpful and nice. 25’ walk to the old town. Very very clean! I could say that is one of the cleanest hotel I’ve ever been to!
