be prepared for that, keep it in mind, not everything is accordingly,
in Leticia the roads has a lot of pot holes.
great place to visit specially if you travel to the forest.

Just a tip for any working travellers - both phone internet and most internet in most hotels does not work very well! Be warned, Leticia is very isolated and this does indeed support this. Best to plan to enjoy the town instead!

Leticia is a great spot to visit the Amazon forest and areas around the river. There are so many beautiful places around it and plenty of choice for all types of visitors. We didn’t realise it was going to be that hot when we went (August) and we’re not really used that humidity, so that ‘slowed’ us down a bit as we weren’t able to do as much as we originally thought we would. But overall it was a great experience, I would recommend it to anyone! (Just have a lot of mosquito repellent with you at all times)

Awesome! LETICIA is at the heart of the amazons!
Awesome! LETICIA is at the heart of the amazons! You can find several tours or reserves to stay in. The biodiversity and the indigenous ethnic diversity is interesting as well as eco educational. A lot to learn from them!!!!

For the gateway city to the Colombian Amazon, I didn't expect to fear for my life when crossing the roads! Leticia collects a tourist tax when you arrive at the airport, but they certainly don't spend any of that money on the roads, they are a disaster.
Compare in contrast to Puerto Nariño, a short boat ride up the Amazon. This town does not allow motorised vehicles and what a difference that makes. If I came back to this area I would stay in Puerto Nariño for sure

I would recommend Leticia as a travel hub/starting point.
I would recommend Leticia as a travel hub/starting point. Nothing special about the town itself apart from the location. Although I recommend the Ethnographic Museum there. But you will get a better view and jungle experience in Puerto Nariño, acessible by boat from Leticia. You can take the commercial boat, it will be a lot cheaper than private. It goes 3 times a day and takes 2h to get to Puerto Nariño. Be careful and research what tours cost, they will try to charge as much as possible 😅 Contact the reserves directly, not through an operator, you will most likely get the experience for half the price. Every indigenous guy there is a guide, pick wisely, a good option is through a reserve directly. Walks and attraction in the near reserves are rather touristy and can be underwhelming. For a deeper jungle experience arrange a multi day jungle walk.
A lot better place to view monkeys is Mocagúa monkey rescue center Fundacion Maikuchigua, they also have artesanal crafts for sale and a local ethnical museum. You can get there with the commercial boat.
Also instead of Flor de Loto, go to Reserva Victoria Regina, the lotuses are also there and you can get an amazing tree tour with info on how the indigenous use them and try some Tarzan moves.
If you want to touch a capybara, go to Isla San Antonio de Cacao on the Peru side, just across the river from Puerto Nariño and ask for that. A walking tour with animal viewing and transport was 180 000 pesos for 2 people roughly 3h.
Nice hotel! Check-in was easy, and the room was great! The shower was your standard shower in colombia, but what was unusual (and awesome) was that the room had A/C! The room also had a mini fridge with really cheap drinks! So unusual, usually those are crazy expensive haha.
The breakfast room was a little tricky to find, but once we found it it was great! Lots of food and juice options. There's a pool as well but we didn't wind up going in.
Great little hotel and it had A/C, would definitely stay here again!
Really clean and a large room with comfortable bed and aircon. It's very good value for what you get. WiFi works fine in reception most of the time (it's hit and miss in Leticia generally). The hotel stored my bag while I went on an Amazon trip and then I paid for a room for the day when I got back due to having an evening flight which was all easy to arrange via Booking.com. There's restaurants and a bakery within a few minutes walk and the harbour is 20mins walk away and the airport 10 mins in a taxi
you have to take into consideration that you’re in Leticia, which doesn’t have many choices. we had the family bungalow, the AC didn’t work, the wifi was non-existent, but the room had an attached bathroom and a decent breakfast. The resident cock-a-doodle-do started at 4am, so if you’re looking to start early you won’t have a problem! despite all this, if I was visiting Leticia again I would stay here!
The moment that me and my family stepped in was truly a bliss. Thank you to our lovely receptionist victory for helping us out in our first time in Colombia. Room was neat, AC optional, quiet, and no stress about anything that needs a second thought. Thank you so much, Victoria helped out so much! Thank you dueño I didn’t catch his name but he was truly humbled and calm man, my best!
The rooms are very comfortable, great beds and pillows, the pool is large and clean and lovely. Leticia is still evolving its tour infrastructure so tours are chaotic and unexpected but the Amazon is beautiful. Very friendly and helpful staff, but knowing Spanish is a necessity in this location, if you only speak English things will be very difficult for you.
They are very nice and the accommodation is really comfortable, the room has 2 fans, so you don't feel the heat in the day if you work from here. And, speaking of internet, Leticia has a really bad internet in general, but here they have Starlink, though is not perfect is good enough to have meetings and work with git (pull/push, programmers understand this).
Thank you for the recommendations, especially the restaurant. You are a great ambassador for Leticia!
Perfect location, near restaurants, Parque Santander, the Museum, and the Transfluviam ticket office
My two stays were very comfortable
Breakfast was excellent. Everything was very good to wxcellent. The only negative was poor wifi access which may be more a Leticia issue than a hotel problem. I very much liked the hotel amenities, staff, location and overall atmosphere.
Very close to the airport reachable on foot in 15 minutes. Although a little out of town, the surrounding area is nice and equipped with everything. The fan in the room, very useful as it is always very hot in Leticia.
We liked everything about the Hotel Anaconda except for too much street noise outside our window. Perhaps they could insulate the window more. The staff, the aircondioning, the wifi, the food, we’re all wonderful
A clean hotel, and though language issues were the main problem, google Translator was handy. helpful staff. A small city with many operators for Amazon jungle tours. Interesting place to explore.
The guys that run the place are very nice and can give you very good recommendations about where to go around Leticia. They'll do everything they can to make you feel comfortable.
Very good wifi
Good location, very friendly hosts, property is easily reachable from Leticia centre. There are 2 swimming pools to enjoy, restaurant open all day, and 3 cute parrots
Really great location, easily walkable to everywhere in Leticia
Super safe
Nick is a great host - full of recommendations for Leticia, Colombia, Brazil and beyond!
