It is a great hotel but seemed sterile in that there were no decorations or plants at all and few architectural details such as moldings. Although there is a nice courtyard in the center of the three levels. It was a large suite because we had to get a suite in order to get a large bed for the two of us, since no smaller spaces were available. This cost more that any other hotel in Bolivia cost us. It was quite comfortable and the elevator was fantastic and a necessity. The only lack of comfort was that the pillows were too large and hard. Great location but almost impossible to access through the little streets many of which are closed and made into pedestrian walkways. The breakfast was included but was the worst in Bolivia: instant coffee, instant oatmeal, and boxed yogurt, but the very nice waiter made eggs for us. The staff was very nice.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was large enough. We had some laundry to do on very short notice and they were able to accomodate our request. Overall a nice experience

Potosi is wonderful/ beautiful and was the richest city in the world for it´s silver. Beautiful architecture and culture. But it lies more than 4000 meters above sea level with a harsh climate and you need help with tours and car rentals

The mine tour is a must-do.
The mine tour is a must-do. Book it through your hostel, because most Bolivian tour companies can't be bothered to keep the information on their websites up to date. Then spend a half-day walking the hilly, narrow streets admiring the faded grandeur of the city's architecture (both in daytime and lit up after dark), and you will have seen what there is to see in Potosi.

Very important historical city as it supplied enormous amount of silver to the Spanish empire. See the Casa de la Moneda, of course, and the Santa Teresa Convent, both of which have good multilingual tours. The eating options in the city are limited, especially when compared to Sucre.

Interesting place!
Interesting place! We actually didn't do a mining tour as we thought it was a bit voyeuristic but a guy we met did and said it was good. The city itself it beautiful with little winding cobblestone streets, and there were lots of interesting churches, plazas and towers to explore :)

Potosí is an extraordinary place, with a great history, and as the source of European wealth (through the exploitation of the silver mines) a place every European should know.
The historical character of the city and the traditional Bolivian culture are amazing and kept alive in the 21st century. It is easy to move around, walking downwards and taking microbuses to go upwards in the city. Marvellous churches and old colonial institutions like Casa de la Moneda are unique treasures. And it is incredible to think and to feel that in the 16th Century Potosí was one of the biggest cities in the world, bigger than Paris or London.

I rarely write reviews of entire cities but I am taking a few minutes to write this because it's a shame that so many travelers only spend one night in Potosi (or they skip it entirely). I could not do a mine tour due to asthma-related respiratory issues so my perspective is strictly that of a world traveler who enjoys local life & culture, history, architecture, and food. There are plenty of things to do like taking a tour of the Casa de la Moneda, the San Franciscan Convent & Temple (especially the rooftop) and the Convent of Santa Teresa, as well as exploring the central market and just wandering the streets of the old town and interacting with the locals. I stayed for three nights and could easily have stayed longer but have to balance my 30-day stay in Bolivia with all the other cities and places of interest. The only real challenge in Potosi is the high altitude combined with steep streets and horrible air pollution from the local buses.
Wonderful hotel for a my quick visit of Potosi. It’s not the cheapest but you get a very comfortable, quiet and clean room with a good bathroom. The staff is great and allowed me to checkout at 3Pm after my Las Minas Tour so I could take a shower and change. The location can’t be better, it’s downtown with many restaurants. The meeting point of my Las Minas tour (don’t pay more than 120) was only 2 blocks away.
Very comfortable beds, pillows and blankets. After a 3 day tour in Uyuni, this was the perfect place to sleep well. Breakfast was great too and the staff was very friendly and caring. The room was huge! was not expecting it at all. The hotel is located in the city center next to many restaurantes, shops, pharmacies and the main attractions such as Casa de la moneda, plaza 10 de Noviembre, and many more.
-Comfortable bed
-Decent bathroom with very good+warm shower (what a treat after many electric showers☺️)
-Room was comfortable and warm/heated (most important reason why I booked it for the cold nights in Potosi☺️)
-WiFi worked well
-Elevator (very convenient when you just arrived at 4100m)
-Friendly and helpful staff
-Close to the Main Plaza (approx. 5 minutes by foot), restaurants and shops
- Perfect hot shower (so important in cold Potosí)
- Shared bathrooms, but spotless clean all the time!
- Heater in room (for cold nights of Potosí)
- Comfortable bed
- Decent WiFi
- Nice and simple freshly made breakfast
- Walking distance from all the main attractions
- Friendly and welcoming family owners of the hostal
- Mate every evening to keep you warm
- Nice common courtyard
The location is unbeatable, less than 10 minutes walk from the center and in a very beautiful area of Potosí.
The rooms are spacious, super clean and well lit and ventilated, and the WiFi is excellent.
Most importantly for me, the staff's attention was impeccable.
In terms of value for money, the hotel was a good choice compared to other options in the same area.
Very nice Hotel with delicious breakfast! Kind people at the reception who helped us with different types of questions and also organised a ride to Sucre.
The house is well maintained and with lovely detailes decorated. We felt like in ancient times.
It is right next to the plaza 10de noviembre and nice restaurants.
The hotel stuff were so helpful and careful in all my staying. The room was nice, clean and very warm, has everything to made the best of comfort.
The bathroom had all day hot water and it was so nice and clean.
The breakfast good enough and yummy.
The parking site, have a lot of space and it's easy to access.
Small-ish room had large windows (window doors) looking over the city. Good bed, a table, comfortable couch. It was very good. The breakfast was fine: the 100% standard Bolivian hotel breakfast. I ate two of everything so to have enough. Good shower.
The hotel is minutes from the center, has a nice rooftop, breakfast is delicious, and the staff are very helpful. I was able to leave my bags for 12 hours after checkout, before my night bus. The bed was super comfortable and the room was very nice.
Very good location in a beautiful village setting away from the bustling and loud streets of Potosi. If you prefer nature and quite you are right here. The owners are very adorable, they treat you as family and assist you in all you need.
Fantastic hostel with a great location to explore Potosi. Really enjoyed the breakfast. Price-quality rate is tremendous. Nelson and the other staff were the sweetest and most helpful to make my stay worthwhile. Thank you!
The hotel is located in an old building in the very center of Potosi near markets, tourist attractions, etc. My room was good, with free heating, facing the road but quiet at night. The Internet was very good.
Breakfast was fine. Located perfectly in the old town!
More of a hotel than a hostel in terms of that I got my own room, but shared bathrooms
Helpful staff, getting me a taxi for the bus to a good price
Amazing hotel.
Located in the heart of Potosi. Spotless clean , extremely hel staff!! Really go above and beyond to make us as comfortable as possible!
Great breakfast!!!
Nice colonial style hotel. Comfortable with a great staff that spoke decent English. Also one receptionist got me a private car to Uyuni. It was definitely worth it.
