Just love the beaches, & plenty to do if you want to drive.

The gold coast is my home away from home, but i must admitt, Surfers paradise itself really needs to have a face lift. It really has lost its uniqueness, & the great vibe it use to have.

Apart from all of the necessary road works.
Apart from all of the necessary road works. We love Broadbeach. This has everything we needed. Pacific fair, trams and Seaworld. Surfer's paradise is definitely not appealing. It is dirty and tired. We ventured out to Tamborine Mountain and other areas. Get out into nature. St Bernards Hotel is wonderful!

The location and scenery was fantastic, but it was quite noisy from the waves continuous noise. There was no double glazed windows or doors and I had no Aircon so we had to have the doors open at night. The ceiling fans that work real well.

We stayed down the southern end & adored it.
We stayed down the southern end & adored it. The towns down here still retain some of the old charm of decades ago. The beaches are clean & less crowded. It's just a little more relaxed here.

Broadbeach 8s the pick when staying at the Gold Coast.
Broadbeach 8s the pick when staying at the Gold Coast. All the other areas were run down, unkempt especially the heart of Surfers Cavill. We went for a drive and Southport was really needing some tidying up as well
The view from our unit on the 15th floor was amazing. Sweeping views of the coastline up to Surfers Paradise and down to Burleigh Heads Pavillion. The apartment was very clean, modern and had everything we needed for our stay. The cost of accommodation on the Gold Coast has increased significantly since covid. The rates at many highrise apartments per night are nearly double what they were 3 years ago. Southern Cross have managed to keep their rates within affordable reach compared to others. This was a game changer for our family!
This hotel is located in central Gold Coast, only a short 5min walk to the beach and surrounding Soul boardwalk (a strip of dining, shopping and attractions). Driving to and from places, like the theme parks, was also very convenient and with the Bruce Bishop car park ($50/week) right behind the hotel made for easy commuting.
The room was very spacious, together with a small kitchenette and balcony (with a good view). The bed was super comfy and the pillows had the right level of 'density' (not too hard, not too soft).
My family and I loved everything about the stay! From the apartment itself to the owners Michael and his partner! They were really friendly and helpful. Even helped us to book the tickets to the theme parks and transport. They also gave a lot of tips and advises on the places to visit. Really glad that we booked the apartment too as they even offered us an extra night so that we won't have to move to a hotel on our last night. Really loved the experience and will definitely be back the next time we visit Gold Coast!
We flew in from Melbourne. The hotel is literally about a 3 minute walk from Gold Coast airport concourse in Bilinga. We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very clean, the room and bed were comfortable, and had a large bathroom. We checked out for 1 night for the trip to Australia Zoo which was about 2 hours away. We returned to Rydges after 1 nt in another lodging near the zoo because we had an early morning flight to Queenstown NZ the next day. We checked out and were in the airport within 3 minutes walking.
Great place to stay for a family with 2 kids. The photos don't do this place justice at all. Views were phenomenal. I typically stayed at 5 star hotels when I travel so I was very close to cancelling. Fortunately, I didn't. It was spacious and the furniture was perfect for my 11 month old to crawl around and explore the whole place. Walking distance to play grounds and great restaurants. The added free extras such as baby cot and high chair was very much appreciated.
I booked a twin room as we were on a budget and it was cheaper than a double - it came with a KS bed in a bedroom and a single bed in the loungeroom.
It was really clean, comfortable and quiet, and also way more spacious than we anticipated - even had a six seat outdoor setting on the balcony big. All that and it was the cheapest accom on the Gold Coast :-) Of note - the room rates were cheaper through Booking.com than the best price directly through the hotel.
Location was good, about a 5 minute walk to the Florida Gardens tram stop (chose not to hire a car for the trip). Visited for the Gold Coast Marathon weekend so the spa bath in the room was handy after the marathon. Close to shared walking/e-bike/bike path junction near the Langham Hotel which made walking up to Surfers Paradise or down to Broadbeach easy. Property kept me informed with check-in and check-out information via text.
The stay at the Meriton Broadbeach was what I expected. The room was comfortable and clean with a great view over to the ocean and the beach. I would recommend the hotel to family, friends and colleagues. Would definitely suggest the Ocean View room as opposed to the other side of the hotel which overlooks the star casino and you get more road noise.
All the above were great, rooms were so clean , pool was great, loved the atmosphere and setting. Bed was so comfortably . Great place to stay with friends for my 60th birthday party, Great 5 star hotel. All the staff were very welcoming and very helpful. I will definitely be going back there with my family on the next holiday!
Absolutely amazing, was so blown away from the minute we checked in to leaving. They are so attentive, the hotel is incredible, clean, spacious, incredible views. Right across from the beach and walking distance to literally everything you would need! Ubers are also cheap to get into town. I didn’t want to leave!!!
Great location right on the most beautiful beach in the whole of Gold Coast. Also so close to great dining options. The carpark at the hotel is great and the rooms are clean (serviced daily) and comfortable.
Amazing location between Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach this 5 star hotel didn't disappoint. Room was tastefully and comfortably decorated, with very high quality products and furnishings.
apartments are nice and big, clean & comfortable. kids loved the pool and spa. close to cavil and the beach. would definitely recommend this place & I’d definitely bring my family back
Staff are excellent and the location is very convenient. Surprisingly well maintained given that it's a lot cheaper compared to other hotels in the area.
