Great location but carful what room you book. Some rooms were renovated and nice with aircon and some rooms. Mine was horribly outdated, old bathroom, no heating, tiny room and very small tv
Wifi did not work and I had no desk I could work from

It's a nice town in a nice location, with a country feel and has attractions like golf, with wineries and mountain biking nearby. The food is good at multiple local restaurants and at some wineries.

Moss Vale is in the centre of the southern tablelands.
Lots to see and do
We ate at Dormie House, Memorial Club and Bundanoon
Easy to get around with car.
I have relatives living in Moss Vale and Bowral and my mother was from Wingello so have been coming down this way all my life and I am now 75.
The towns have all grown in a good way. Plenty of shops, eateries and antique shops.
I will certainly be back

Convenient location. Extremely small double room.
Convenient location. Extremely small double room. More suited to a sole traveler. No elevator so difficulty climbing stairs with luggage. No bellboy. No air conditioner but had a fan. Room very dusty with only one opening window. The other window had a broken sash therefore couldn’t stay open. Paint hanging off wall. The room hadn’t been vacuumed before arrival as it had pieces of tissue on the floor next to bed. Staff pleasant, restaurant food quite nice with attentive server. Nice grounds but room shouldn’t have been offered until it had been renovated. Felt ripped off under the circumstances. Definitely not suitable for pensioners unless a ground floor room is offered.

In the middle of Moss Vale is Leighton Park which was full of beautiful flowering hydrangeas of many varieties and colours. And Cecil Hoskins Wetland Reserve is a great place to visit to view water birds.

Moss Vale is a beautiful country town.
Moss Vale is a beautiful country town. The whole area surrounding Moss Vale is a great area to visit. My problem was with Dormie house. I couldn't believe that I had paid $165 for the night in such a dingy, dismal place. The place resembled a funeral home rather than a hotel type of accommodation. It was cold, dark and miserable and when I say cold, I mean freezing cold. There was a radiator in the room but if you stood more than 10mm away from it you would not know it was turned on. It did nothing in the way of warming the room. We put 2 extra blankets on the bed, and we were still cold all night long.
Great value for money. My initial Queen room had water damage so upon checking in, the staff switched me to another room with two single beds but gave me a discount on the night's accommodation which was nice. I was only on my own so I didn't mind. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food in the bistro was great too. Typical pub accommodation with shared bathrooms. The rooms and bathrooms need a little bit of TLC but still comfy and wasn't an issue for me. I would easily consider staying again if I was visiting the area.
I liked the ambiance - walk into Dormie House and you go back in time, to a more comfortable and relaxed age. One might say that it is idiosyncratic - but it is not chrome and plastic and efficient processing, as if one's a battery hen. The wood panelling is marvellous, and entirely fitting for the location. None of that should suggest that DH isn't modern in all the essentials. Staff were very helpful, and the food was very good.
Great little getaway house, perfect for a weekend away. The facilities were all of a high standard and the accommodation was comfortable and inviting. Ian was a fantastic host from start to end. He went above and beyond to help me retrieve items that were left behind and I’d highly recommend staying here for his warm hospitality alone! Thankyou - we loved Moss Vale.
Little Chelsea is a beautifully furnished spacious apartment with two balconies in a pretty garden within easy reach of Moss Vale and the delights of the Southern Highlands. Loretta and Andy are very generous warm hosts offering so many delicious extras. We loved our stay. Thank you.
Amazing B&B in Moss Vale. Great host, comfortable bed, excellent shower.
We were welcomed by Suzanee who showed us around and left some fresh baked brownies in our bedroom. Breakfast was amazing and everything really well looked after.
this hotel located in a prime spot in Moss Vale. it’s a pub and drive in wine/beer/spirit cellar. the hotel bit is a part of the business. the hotel part of the business is very basic. Things looked run down. it needs a lot of work.
I liked the fact that it wasn't far off the Hume Motorway, so I could access it from Melbourne, Shellharbour or Singleton. My room also had a good bathroom even though the hotel was under renovation.
The location is good, we (like many other guests) were attending a wedding nearby and there were a number of us staying at this hotel since it was close to the wedding venue.
Though some might find Dormie House "a bit tired", l found it charming with a nostalgic feel. The staff were really friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
