This is a fantastic area, so much to see and do, great scenic drives, we go to this area often, particularly to the concerts held at Seppeltsfield, very happy with all aspects of our stay. We mostly had evening meals at local hotels, lunch at Cafes and supplied our own breakfast in self contained accommodation. All amenities in the area easy to locate.

    Quaint rural town.

Quaint rural town. Lovely architecture to stroll around and admire. Nice places to eat. Pub meals or cafe for breakfast/brunch. 10 minutes from Tanunda and Nuriootpa so very close to all you might want to visit in the Barossa. We stayed at the Brauhaus Hotel. Very clean and friendly vibe. Good pub food. Nosh was the cafe we ate breakfast and it was very nice

Angaston is well positioned in the Barossa for wine tasting.

Angaston is well positioned in the Barossa for wine tasting. Maggie Beer's Farm is close by as is the Chocolate Factory. There is a lot of history around the town, you just need to explore to find it.

Angaston is a pretty area with Tanunda, & Nuriootpa very close by. Amenities are great with a Foodland supermarket, quaint little shops along the main street. There is a lovely farmers fresh fruit & veg store on the main drive between Angaston & Tanunda. It is about a little over an hours drive to Hahndorf & The Cedars with Hans Heydon house & gallery in the Adelaide Hills, & about 2 hours to Clare. There are lots of wineries & cellar doors close by - Pepperjack, Jacobs Creek, Peter Lehmann to name a few. Berge's U Underground cellars & tasting room is in the main street & well worth the experience. There is a hop on hop off bus which takes you around a selection of wineries $80. It leaves from the carpark behind the Visitor's Ctr in the main Street. The roads are well maintained throughout the area. Maybe a 3-4 night stay followed by 1-2 night stay in Hahndorf, followed by a 2-3 night stay in McLaren Vale.

Angaston is perfectly placed to explore the Barossa region...

Angaston is perfectly placed to explore the Barossa region and Eden valley. The pretty town has some great coffee shops and excellent wineries (both large and boutique) within a few minutes. The Saturday morning market at the local town hall had some fabulous produce and interesting crafts. Places highly recommended include Lamberts Wines, Vintners restaurant, The Barossa Chocolate Company and Nosh cafe.

The friendliness and welcome. From the moment you arrive Julie the host makes you feel welcome and her attention to detail is incredible. From the fruit and chocolates in the fridge to the complementary port and games in the cupboard you realIse Julie has made it special for you and puts a lot of thought into what you have while you stay in her accommodation. The quality of workmanship is simply outstanding and the whole place is a credit to the conversion work that was done and the breakfast at Nosh Angaston was superb. We will stay again!

Cute period cottage in the heart of Angaston, located on a quiet street but within a few minutes' walk to all amenities including bar, restaurant, grocery shop plus a few specialty shops eg Barossa cheese company. Very well equipped, you don't need to take anything with you, it's like a home from home (shampoo, washing powder, condiments, you name it!) Breakfast basket was excellent with enough food for a cooked breakfast, also a bottle of wine, port and juices.

Fabulous location at the high end of the gorgeous Main Street in Angaston. Wonderful walking down to cafes, pubs & great local produce stores in this little village. It is a great base to walk the Barossa with access to the trail to Nuriootpa & Tanunda. Apartment is comfortable & warm with outlook on to historic buildings. Sparkling wine & chocolate was a lovely hospitable gesture. We will definitely visit & stay again. Thank you to our host Nicky

The location was excellent and the supplies left for breakfast were a lovely and unexpected touch. The house has alot of character, is well stocked and is in the main street of Angaston which is a really pretty town. We enjoyed the comfortable beds and it has off street parking too. We struggled getting the air conditioners in the bedrooms to work properly however the log fire was lovely!

Angaston Lodge is the best option for Barossa if you prefer a quiet location in walking distance of a nice town with friendly people. Grant gave us a good insight view of interesting places and we discovered some more (Krondorf, Steingarten....). The lodge is just great, in German we would call it "über-drüber"! Not to forget the pool! And the architecture! And.....

We liked the spaciousness of the accommodation. Its location was convenient to Angaston with most things in walking distance. The kitchen was huge and well supplied by comparison with the kitchenettes you often find in places for overnight stays. Breakfast provisions were fine.
