Dinosaur museum MEF was great! charming city although somewhat commercial...at night there was a lovely Victorian structure in the middle of town featuring dozens of tango dancers and great music. People and restaurants/bars are nice and welcoming.

There's a great paleontology museum you should not miss.
There's a great paleontology museum you should not miss. Excursions to see penguins and sea lions and other wildlife are a must. We had one problem (also experienced in Madryn)--there are no or very few marked taxi cabs, one must call for a car. Fortunately, at the Casa de Paula, staff happily called upon request.

The hotel is well located, close to the main attractions in town. Trelew is not a tourist town so if you are looking for a modern hotel then stay in Puerto Madryn but this hotel has everything you need. There are nice touches like embossed towels and coat hangers.
