I didn't get the impression many tourists stop off here but...
I didn't get the impression many tourists stop off here but they should try it. A very relaxing city, with many nice outdoor cafes etc. A good place to wind down, and great value for money. If you want to break up the trip between Tirana and the Montenegro coast or v/v this is ideal. Buses for Montenegro leave outside Rozafa Hotel, other side of the road, on schedule. Buses to Tirana leave every hour close to this at the roundabout just north.

I love this city 💙 eat in buna there is a fab it is quite literally my absolutely fav place to eat pizzeria aswell pizza Italia was absolutely delish and they do a kids micky mouse pizza super cute the ice cream parlour in the middle of the piaza is so good stoila coffee and brunch the avocado toast was delicious and the ices coffee shiroke is sooooo beautiful the seafood is crazy good but go whats in season at the time during the summer hotel europa is a good spot for coffee with kids it has a play area fantasia the coffee is also very good there is a couple of restaurants in the area that are so worth trying

Lovely city, with much to do in the hinterland. Very good for walking, once you've oriented yourself. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Great base for exploring North Albania via tours. Great city with lots of historical places to visit. Great food and amazing friendly people Lots of food options. Seafood is amazing, and very fresh as it comes from the lake of Shkodra, Adriatic Sea or the many rivers that are within reach.

Shkoder itself requires some improvement as a city, but the Rosafa Castle is a must go. Shkoder is a perfect starting point for visits to: Shkoder Lake - must see, and to Komani Lake and Cape of Rodon.

Unfortunately, they do not accept payment with card, but that seems to be the rule in Albania, so make sure you have some cash with you. The hotel was easy to find and quite conveniently located on a side street, thus it was quiet. It's also in the city centre and within walking distance to the old town. The tour to Shiroke, Rozafa Castle and Mez bridge was very nice and at an affordable price. Room was quite spacious and the AC worked wonders.PauloPortugal

If the shower curtain were 5 cm longer to completely block the water leaking it would be even better.

We will definitely come back and stay next time we visit Albania. Dritan and Mirsada are the best hosts and will do everything to make your stay perfect. Their apartment is new. and it is spotless. Everything you need is there. The apartment is central to the old town, the restaurants, and shopping. It is a nice hike to the castle and a hike or bike ride to the lake.
