Basecamp Wales offers family-run hostel accommodation in Llanllyfni, on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and 30.3 km from Pen-Y-Pass and 8.2 km to the beach at Dinas Dinlle. There is a flock of alpacas and sheep in the field, and free feed for kids to give to them. Staff were excellent when we arrived, giving a site tour.

Situated in a converted school house, Lodge Dinorwig is located in Dinorwig, 8 km from Snowdon. Free private parking is available on site. We had an awesome stay as a base for out hiking trips. The owner made us feel like home right away and helped us out with good tips on the region.

Llangollen Hostel Self-catering is a 4-star, Victorian town house in the centre of Llangollen. 2nd time we’ve visited Llangollen and both times we stayed here. Location is great. Facilities are great. Price is even better. Wi-Fi worked well enough to work remotely and there is a shed for those bike touring like us. Set in Dolgellau in Snowdonia National Park, Kings boasts a barbecue and views of the mountains. Free private parking is available on site. Some rooms have views of the river or garden. We were already excited by the drive up through the beautiful wooded valley. When we arrived we were overwhelmed with the beauty and tranquility of the location. The property was so clean and comfortable and big enough to accommodate us all very easily. We were fortunate enough to have lots of sunshine so we enjoyed walks, a BBQ and a fire. We had plenty of shared meals in the big dining room.
