Vernal has a lot of interesting things both in the town and close by.
We went to the 7-11 Ranch for dinner and it was excellent and reasonable in its price of option. We attended the Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and it was beautiful. We visited some family and had a wonderful day all around.

Lovely town with great restaurants.
Lovely town with great restaurants. It’s the gateway to Dinosaur National Monument and many hiking sites.
In 2020 we stayed longer and did several same day hiking trips. Plenty to do so make sure to visit.
Loved our stay.

It's a fine town to stay in, lots of motels and restaurants, and a great museum or two. The town likes to capitalize on the dinosaur theme as there are replicas, sometimes business-related, on a number of street corners of the main drag. See also the museum. A lot of oil money has gone into the town over the years, see public buildings and war memorials. Dinosaur National Monument is just a few miles out of town, a must see. Big oil "patch" south of town and beautiful drive over mountain pass on your way back to Grand Junction if you're headed that way.

Vernal is a great little city in the NE corner of Utah. The 7-11 Ranch Restaurant is a local mainstay, and we really enjoyed our dinner there as a family. Vernal is close to Flaming Gorge, Dinosaur National Monument, the Uintah Mountains where Utah's highest peaks are located, and is near the UT-WY-CO borders.

Lots of different hotels that should address any family’s needs. Fast food available as well as better quality restaurants. Two small but nice museums. If you are heading east from here, you should definitely stay in Vernal because it is a long way to a city with even decent facilities.
I was pleasantly surprised by this motel as some of the reviews were bad - but the room was clean and smelled nice and the owner was accommodating when there was a mix up when I accidentally booked a non-pet friendly room (heads up, there's no way to designate it's a pet friendly room on Booking, so I think you have to call to book one). I appreciated the room had a microwave, a refrigerator, and a desk to work. The Wifi was ok for working remotely, however it wasn't good enough for Zoom calls, had to use my hotspot.
Hotel was ok for two guys with two dogs. Room was large, hotel was a dive really. There are better places to stay. Since the pool wasn't operating we requested to have the dog fee waived. Nope..we booked through a third party because the reservation system for the hotel was inoperable. Hotel room was very large, one of the only bonuses. Breakfast at JB's was terrible...premade stuff dumped into a tray and heated. Do not recommend that breakfast.
Beds were comfy, showers were nice and hot with great water pressure. A good budget hotel for a quick budget overnight stop. Dog friendly. The gal in the front office was very nice. My air condition went out late at night and I called the office thinking it was a long shot to get help but they sent the maintenance guy right away. I very much appreciated that.
Hotel was easy to get to.
liked not having to worry about housekeeping coming in...I had control of that.
Staff was helpful with process of filling out sheets for towel replacements etc.
Staff was very help since there isn;t a computer Kiosk to print an electronic pass for the national monument. :)
Breakfast had lots of options. Staff is nice. Lobby is nice. Hotel looks nice from the outside. There is grass for your pet to do their business and a park close by. Location is good. TV good. Air Conditioning worked. Fridge nice and big. Has a little kitchen in every room.
Clean and modern place. Friendly staff, safe environment. Room well equipped. Good Wifi, ok breakfast. Location is a couple of miles outside of the center of Vernal and away from restaurants and shops, but it takes only a few minutes to get there. Great for a short stay.
Included breakfast was OK. The in house restaurant, not part of the hotel (?), is popular not just with the hotel guests. Good price, big portions. Though too calory rich for us.
We used Vernal as a convenient place to stay 3 nights for visiting Dinosaur NM two days.
I liked the cleanliness of the room. I enjoyed using the laundry facilities of the hotel. The internet was very good. I was able to sleep well there. The location is very convenient for going to Dinosaur National Park.
The breakfast was good. Plenty of choices to make most folks happy. The location was great, close enough to town to enjoy all Vernal has to offer. Far enough to be very quite and peaceful.
The staff is friendly. Greeting everyone walking in. The beds! I travel alot and these are superior in comfort. Not the usual firm hotel mattress. Pillow top. Highly recommend this place.
