I grew up here. Having said this, the city has gone to sh!t in the last 30 years. It's fast approaching what Mojave has become; a drug infested homeless encampment cesspit. If you have to drive through it, get what you need in Lancaster or Santa Clarita. DON'T STOP. The freeway is situated in such a way that you can actually hold your breath for the length of time it takes to get through it. This place will kill your soul if you remain too long.

You have to be careful where you stay in Palmdale. A lot of the hotels have small issues since Covid, making stays not as nice as you would.like. This hotel was beautiful, clean, quiet and kept standards high!

Nice small town atmosphere but with a definite LA influenced vibe. Maybe not for the better but still a vibe . Weather can be all over the spectrum 90's during the day 30's at night & can also have the occasional borderline mini hurricane force winds as well!! Palmdale is famous for its Aerospace Industry but seems to have expanded into being a dormitory for Los Angeles. For all that the shopping malls were disappointing and the eating opportunities bland and uninspiring. The roads are always busy and at the motel we used the traffic noise was intrusive. I canceled my reservation as soon as got there but the cancellation was not processed the when I try to call Customer service I got scam so please don’t let this happen to you . Don’t give any personal information it looks like booking.com and these hackers are working together to scam people and they are very good at it. The experience we went through is terrible don’t let this happened to you.
