We drove north from Durango on The Million Dollar Highway and stopped in Ouray. We were there for only one night but I would like to have been able to do some hiking nearby. We drove west to Telluride the day after Ouray. If you are interested in high end shopping and more commercialism, it was great, but Ouray is definitely more our type of town!

Beautiful cute town in the mountains with one main street and maybe couple more. There are no big stores, but there are places to shop and a lots of restaurants. There are amazing mountains around where you can go for a walk and hot springs to soak. I definitely recommend visiting the waterfall at Box Cañon Falls Park.

A very unique town nestled in the mountains.
A very unique town nestled in the mountains. You can feel the heritage of a long gone mining town. Beautiful old buildings and very nice people. Harleys and Jeeps are all up and down Main Street. Unless you are going into the mountains to enjoy the great outdoor a day will suffice.
Spectacular mountain scenery, excellent classical music, average restaurants, generally cordial service people. Take a jeep trip with the San Juan group, it's worth every penny. Excellent general store for a small town. Fun to walk and probably excellent hiking. Pleasant climate. Be careful not to hit the deer when driving.

Ouray is following other mountain towns in trying to be like Telluride. Off-roading is what keeps the town going, which is great if you're into it. Some good hikes. Definitely overdoing expectations for tipping. Will only be back for day trips.
The exterior of the hotel mimicked a sweet small-town cottage with blooming flowers hanging from all angles and wooden finishes surrounding the stairways and balconies. These aspects complemented the towering cliffs provided by Ouray's rocky boundaries. As for the room, we were comfortable with the warmth provided by the heating unit and we were entertained by the flat-screen TV, which had a great signal. We enjoyed our stay here and we look forward to our next overnight visit.
Location is excellent; even in Winter, we were able to walk the length of Main Street, find coffee and breakfast nearby and wander down to the Wiesbaden hot springs one evening.
We stayed in the Miner's Cabin, and my father stayed in one of the rooms in the main property. I've stayed here at the Inn on a previous occasion, and we returned for the wonderfully cosy and comfortable rooms, and the friendly management.
The homemade banana bread always makes me grin too.
Connie and Greg were very gracious and knowledgeable hosts. Breakfast was filling and prepared with care—one savory and one sweet item each morning. The TV is well-equipped with streaming services, the bathroom came complete with toiletries, and the B&B is in walking distance of the local river trail. Both Connie and Greg gave great suggestions of what to do and eat both in Ouray and in the neighboring towns of Ridgway and Montrose. They make guests feel like family.
Perfection in an amazing rustic town. The lodge was ultra clean and updated. Great bed and pillowes. Amazing views. We cooked steaks in their clean gas grill. We had a friendly bonfire with other guests and cooked s’mores provider by the lodge. The perimeter trail was so close to our location. Joe, our host was always there when we needed her. This was one of our favs In Colorado!
The location was right in the center of Ouray / everything walkable. Plenty of hiking opportunities. The owners are right there on property and make you feel right at home. Family friendly/ pet friendly and great getaway for couples. Breakfast in the morning was always a great opportunity to compare notes with other visitors- we got some great ideas of places to see.
The room was cute and rustic. Loved the body wash, shampoo and conditioner mounted in the shower. The bed was clean and comfortable. The hot springs were little wooden tubs. I liked that they were more private than the big public springs. It was exactly what you would expect in an inn located in a Colorado mountain town. We were very comfortable.
This hotel was so charming. I was searching through pictures of hotels when planning my trip to Ouray and booked this place immediately when I saw the photos, and it definitely lived up to my expectations. I absolutely loved the Victorian decor. We enjoyed waking up every morning to a view of the mountains out the window.
We stayed in the Inn/hotel and loved it! The staff were over the top friendly and helpful, we loved the ease of checking in and out, and the whole place had a great vibe. It was just enough distance from town to feel a little more isolated but close enough to not feel an ounce of inconvenience.
Gorgeous restoration of the original hotel, very cool history, right in the ideal spot in downtown Ouray. Our room was spacious and the shower was just perfect. The front staff was super friendly! bonus points for the fresh aerated water from the tap.
We loved everything about our stay. The hot springs felt amazing. Our room was clean and spacious. We were only a couple of blocks from downtown, so we could walk there. And, finally, the hot breakfast in the morning was awesome.
Every inch of our rooms super clean and current decorations and furnishings. Quite, and centrally located to restaurants, bars and shopping. Beautiful mountains surrounding the entire town of Ouray where hotel is located.
Great location in the heart of the town, quaint/fun Victorian decor, friendly staff, a great "B&B type" experience. The continental breakfast was decent. A little pricey, but that's all the hotels in the area.
We needed to change our date due to weather and a dog friendly room at the last minute. Nothing was too much trouble... Sonia was so helpful... a great manager. Continental breakfast was generous and fresh.
it is interesting and has character. The staff is very friendly and has good information about things in the area. And it is a beautiful, Colorado mountain location with the river in back.
The bed and the location are the best part of this hotel. Appreciate the thoughtfulness of putting packed breakfast in the refrigerator. The room is clean and so is the bathroom.
