We went to the Chidrens Museum and thought it was super cool! Our grandkids and even us adults had a fun time. We also hit Koolbeans coffee shop and enjoyed the atmosphere there and the delicious coffee. We drove around town just enjoying the look of it and visited family. Unfortunately our time in Brookings was short lived as it was a quick trip otherwise we would have explored many of the stores in the downtown area.

Brookings was a wonderful little town.
Brookings was a wonderful little town. It exceeded our expectations - the people were so pleasant and the town was cute and very family friendly. We are looking forward to calling this town our new home in a few short months.

Nice town. Clean and plenty of options for restaurants.
Nice town. Clean and plenty of options for restaurants. Winter can be very cold and snowy, but hey, it's South Dakota, what do you expect. Summertime is nice and the views in the countryside are great!

Super comfy bed and pillows.
Super comfy bed and pillows. Close to the freeway, shopping, and restaurants. Complete breakfast. Took a long time to fix TV (slow phone tech support). Excellent front desk staff. NOTES: 1) This is a university town, so expect some young travelers. 2) NO elevator to 2nd floor, so request a 1st floor room if needed.

Brookings has so much to see and do! McCrory Gardens are beautiful! The Art Museum at SDSU was breathtaking and the Ag Museum interesting.
Surprising little restaurants in the towns that surround it like Bruce, Volga and Ward made the trip a fun trip!

SDSU Dairy Bar and Main Street Brookings are hotspots and you must grab a Nickburger or two from the city’s unique Nick’s Hamburger Shop on Downtown Main! Or better yet try Pizza King privately owned by our very own Brookings High School graduate Shannon Brown! Take an interest in art at the Brookings Community Cultural Center on Kiddoodle Street (4th Street).
The room was too big (compared to rooms found in european hotels). The bathroom was also huge. My room was cleaned every day, and the towels were changed. The staff was polite and helpful. Close by, you can find several restaurants to dine in or take away and also one huge supermarket. There is plenty of space to park your car. There is also an internal swimming pool which I didn't use.
The pleasant greeting upon arrival, they appreciate their customers/guests. I left the super 8 down the road due to their policy against cats. Best thing I did as I have feline pets and didn't want to violate the policy. So this Econo Lodge is pet friendly and in a convenient location.
