The staff was very friendly and the room was clean and big enough for my family. Only three of us ended up using it but it would've easily accommodate my family of five. This is such a quaint little town!
This is such a quaint little town! You can walk everywhere and people are very nice. There are some great biking and hiking trails within walking distance. Outdoor restaurants are exceptional. We were in town to hike the 14er at maroon bells. Basalt was a perfect distance and not as expensive to stay as Aspen.

Cute little town with a lovely river going thru it and nice walking paths . Nice restaurants . Take Midland Ave. out of town to Ruedi Reservoir . About 20 miles thru a gorgeous valley along the river(great fly fishing). The Reservoir is large and completely surrounded by beautiful green mountains . Basalt is near Aspen but without the high prices and crowds. Convenient to Aspen if wish to visit. Two rivers meet in Basalt so you can stay very near the rivers - plenty of fishing , rafting, or simply walking near rivers.
