Very quaint and QUIET seaport town. A lot of the restaurants and bars were closed during my stay but was able to go to 1 of them which was lovely. It's a very far east part of Iceland I recommend going to, even if it is for 1 night.

Gem! This was worth the extra drive to visit.
Gem! This was worth the extra drive to visit. Honestly it was my favorite part of Iceland. Rugged beauty without the long line of tourist buses to contend with. Stokksnes Beach is a hidden gem at sunrise!

The Berjaya in Höfn is in a wonderful position with the harbour on one side and a view out across the water to the glaciers and the west on the other. It is also easy walking distance to all the local bars and restaurants.

Hofn is a lovely town in SE Iceland.
Hofn is a lovely town in SE Iceland. It has numerous, easy walking paths thru town and around their waterfront including a golf course with views that I think rival those of the finest courses in the world. Not a golfer, but if I were, this is a place I would want to play. It was spectacular. The views of the glacier were outstanding. There were several good restaurants, lobster is a local specialty. There are nature and art trails along the waterfront and a number of good historical exhibits. Wished we could have spent more time here. It felt like a vibrant, fully functioning community that I would have liked to explore more.

it was one of the most expensive stay on our 12 days trips.
it was one of the most expensive stay on our 12 days trips. The room did not match the pricing.
There were not microwave nor toaster nor any other means to warm up any food. Only one working chair in the room.
It was clean, but not worth the price.

Unlike tourist traps in the USA, Hofn is a marine village built to accommodate itself throughout the seasons. It's a place to relax, take in the fresh air, and chill. Its natural beauty is more than enough.
The property was stunning. It sat on a gorgeous big farm with horses and mountains to view. I can’t give enough thanks to the wonderful people who own this little slice of heaven. I wish I knew her name, but her fiancé is part owner. We got to speaking with her and I told her how I’d been dying to pet horses. She right away took myself and my boyfriend out to the fields with her cute boarder collie to go hang out with their horses and enjoy the Icelandic countryside. This is an amazing memory I’ll have forever.
Located on a farm in southern Iceland, Guesthouse Nypugardar was a wonderful place to stop while driving the ring road. The hosts were very nice and the food was fantastic. We had dinner just after we arrived and breakfast the next morning. It was some of the best food we had in Iceland. There are some amazing views from the property of the surrounding farms and the glacier capped mountains. It was located away from the highway so it was very quiet. We would definitely return.
Vikingcafe offers budget friendly accomodation in a magnificent area of Iceland. Our top highlights:
- flexible check-in (we arrived after 19:00) and very friendly staff
- breakfast included that was good & diverse with sweet and savoury options including Icelandic skyr
- nice cozy room in separate area from the café and outlook on the bay area (in the morning)
- free parking
- area entrance (1000 kr per person) included
Very convenient location right off the main road. Easy to check in and offered a common room area. Room itself was typical for Iceland--kind of small but clean and well equipped. This was perfect for our quick overnight stay and was a great location to explore the Crystal Cave and that area. It wasn't fancy but was well priced for Iceland and fit our needs.
The location of place was great
The staff were nice
The biggest I liked about the place is the safety
I just found out I lost my credit card outside of the hotel and the staff saw it and they kept with them till reached them I mean that a place where you want to be it represent the hotel it represents the staff and represent Iceland well done !
If you are looking for a heartly warmed stay, you should stay at Dynjandi. We slept there during our honeymoon Icelandic trip. It is situated less than 10 minutes from Höfn by car. The host is super kind and at your complete disposal for everything, from drying your wet clothes to funny and useful tips for your journey. Extremely recommended!
Central but quiet location next to supermarket and near harbour area with restaurants. Nice, modern, comfortable and very clean. Good size room. Correct price.
One of the few apartments in Iceland where we could see the owner. Just ring the doorbell and you can talk with him or he can come in a few minutes to solve any problem.
One of the best accommodations during our 2 week tour across Iceland. Everything about this cabin was well thought out by the owner. The location has a great view and there are a few benches in choice locations on the property to sit, relax and take it all in. Would love to stay here again in the future!
parking. netflix. coffee. cook. aurora. facility. price. location. and mostly wonderful host. everything is so perfect.

thanks you again. i had a great time in iceland
A hotel that with the backdrop of Vatnajökull behind. It is located inside the town of hofn. Hofn is one of the underrated town and is a picturesque town in its own rights. Will recommend to friends to visit this town as all the amenities are walkable distance despite the Icelandic weather.😁
We loved this guesthouse, it felt very relaxed and chilled out, and we felt very at home there. It's in a convenient location for driving around the South and East coast of Iceland. I particularly liked the personal touches to the house and the sheep pictures on the wall!
Checking in was very easy and the host was kind enough to give recommendations on where to go eat / etc. The bed was comfortable and the wi-fi was good. The breakfast was the star of the show! It was delicious and there was so much of it. One of our favorites in Iceland
Some hotels in Iceland are perfectly crafted for tour buses. Hotel Jökull is one of them–but surprisingly they're also excellent at treating people travelling without buses!
The room was spacious and comfortable, and the service was extremely pleasant.
Out of the way location, but gorgeous scenery. A stay here includes one of the best breakfasts we had in Iceland. Also included is a visit to the Viking village prop set and around an old army base with huge crashing waves and incredible mountain views!
The traditional Iceland buffet breakfast was complete and well tended. The room was clean, new and modern. During breakfast, a sheep and two lambs walked up to the window to say hello and posed for pictures.
We booked a triple room although we were 2, the room was spacious with normal furniture. The dinner experience was the best, some of the best food we had in Iceland, make sure you try the hotel restaurant.
clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable and had the best sleep on my entire Iceland trip. The breakfast spread was also very good! Not a ton of variety but it provided the necessities.
Good stop off location on ring road tour. Clean and simple hotel - value for money in Iceland. Free 24/7 tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast decent for price.
